Standard residential concrete is a deposit on signing (10–25%) and balance on completion. Anyone asking for 50%+ up front is either undercapitalized (about to disappear) or hoping you'll forget about the warranty later.
"All concrete work as discussed" is not a contract — it's a placeholder. The signed quote should itemize: dimensions, thickness, mix PSI, rebar spec, joint plan, cure method, warranty terms, permit handling, demo, cleanup, payment schedule.
